Khawaja Sira Learning Centre (KLC) Training

THEMES
GEDSI
For a community too often shut out of both education and the workforce, the Khawaja Sira Learning Centre is a rare space of its own. As part of that initiative, this two-day training led by Laraib Kiani (Coordinator, Program Development, Communications & Advocacy, PCE) with Bilqees Fatima (Coordinator, MER & Resource Development, PCE), in collaboration with the National Education Foundation (NEF) equipped transgender educators and learning facilitators with the skills to teach, and to speak for themselves. Day one focused on communication: active listening, interpersonal skills, and the tools to create inclusive, engaging learning environments.
Day two moved from skill to voice. Drawing on real-life scenarios and their reflections from the first day, learners practised communication, confidence, and purposeful self-expression, then turned to marketing, learning to showcase and present their work and their craft with pride and clarity. The training reflected a commitment PCE and NEF share: that education equity and community empowerment have to include the people the system most often leaves out.
